What effect greed? What role contentment?

Considering the impact of greed on the wellbeing of Earth. In Buddhist thought Greed is considered one of three poisons in the human mind, along with anger, and ignorance.

What happens to our planet when everybody want's more.... of everything? Is there a role for contentment in the sustainability of our planet? How can that be actuated?

Are we prepared to take the responsibility our self? Do we see greed operating in our daily actions? If so, how can we begin to change this. How do we shift from greed mind to contented mind?

Whatever the answer, bring the change with awareness and love.

Damon! I am v sorry I didn't get back to you all those weeks ago. we were basically away for October school holidays and sort of assumed that was when you were coming (tho there was a lot more October than that).... Have you been and gone yet? We went back to Golden Bay for Labour weekend - it was glorious when Wellington was suffering horrendous weather. The odd thing is that there is now seaweed growing on the driveway of my mother's bach never in the 25 years we've had it has it been there. I suspect sea levels are already on the rise!
Happy momentous day to you (politics speaking).

Hi Damon
Great to hear from you. Yes, school holidays have slowed other life activity down - we've just got back from a break in Golden Bay and the Marl Sounds over the last week. The Sounds were particularly optimistic - abundant with fresh water and good fishing! I'm based in Wellington (tho' much of my heart resides in the South Island)! What sort of water research are you looking into?

Hey Damon
are you Rachel Brown's mate? I've heard a little about you. I'm a good friend of hers in Welly. I just liked the way you wrote about needing to laugh now and then. (Don't we all?) I imagine you've already seen this but it was the first thing that came to mind.... http://www.cheatneutral.com/
I'm probably a little more involved in Celsias at present (one can only do so much online networking) but maybe we should set up a joke chapter of Intersect. Cheers Sophie Jerram
