Intersect presents... Emergence at Southern Cross Lounge

November 7, 2011 from 6pm to 7:30pm
What power does an individual have to effect the behaviour of the whole? Can the motivations of individuals move communities? Where do social movements begin? These are poignant questions for our times. Whatever we strive to do as individuals we find ourselves pitted against movements and forces that dwarf us – climate, economics, social and political forces. At Intersect’s Emergence evening we will explore these questions by investigating some examples from nature. In nature we can find…See More

Hi Sam,

Great.  I see Nina got back to you on your page, but email me on tim@littlelion.co.nz or give her a call.  I've also been doing some work on sustainable social enterprises over the last couple of years, there is a brief overview on my website www.littlelion.co.nz, so really keen to find out more about what you are working on there.

Hey Sam,

you replied to Tim's call for a website build...so the general idea is to get a number of approx 5 min videos (discussing ideas for Chch regeneration on the basis of key systemic challenges that need to be address)  on a web-page. Then the page should also contain a survey option where people going through it can give their opinion on these ideas (agree, disagree type, and a comment), and a database that can register these answers (survey monkey type of thing). We would also of course need to include basics such as the intro and the purpose of this project and description on how the page functions.

If you are still interested in helping us, let us know.

I'm a Whangarei born Kiwi with a degree in Graphic Design. I spent the last 4 1/2 years living in Japan and also visited Borneo (Malaysia), Brunei, Philippines, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Bali with a lot more destinations in mind. It blows me away the amount of poverty and greed in this world. I'm interested in Environmentalism and activism and want to do my part to make a difference! How about your self??

Hey Sam..

You still looking for a beautiful whare in Paekok?
I tracked down the number to the place my friends recently vacated.. Hilltop Hideaway Unfortunately its been rented out already, however Denise suggested you give her a call tonight (if poss) as her friend has  a 'beautiful property' in Paekok. She was planning on selling but is now thinking of renting her home out instead. Worth while following up if your still looking yeah? Denise's number is (04) 902-5967

Glad to hear it! The people know what they want and it's great to see groups like this putting it into action. But when's the government going to catch on?? They're a but slow to say the least!

Hi Sam

Great to hear Regen went well and awesome that you could be keen to host something in Wellie (you'd be perfect in that role). I'm going to put the call out in the next newsletter for anyone who wants to be involved in co-hosting events in Wellie this year... so maybe we could meet over a drink/dinner with anyone who hears the call and could be keen to be involved? Plus I'll tap a few shoulders to test interest - feel free to do the same! I'm out of town at the moment, but we could regroup in a couple of weeks if that suits you. - Nick

Hi Sam

I want to set it up a few days before 10.10, edit it fast, and then release it on the day.
Hey Sam
A while ago you left a great message on my page and so I'm finally writing back. I have been pretty involved in 350 and would love to make something if I can find the time - and if I can find others to work with so it's really nice to hear from you.
I had a look at your blog page and I think you are unwell at the moment. All strength to you. So right now you might not want to know about it! But perhaps even in sickness our breath can be very interesting. More detail in the message sent to you. This seemed a little long for a wall comment!

Hey Sam,
I saw your comment on the 350 Aotearoa group re actions in Wellington. Well we're in ramp up mode, and our goal is to get 'suburb coordinators' active in finding somewhere to host an event like community gardening etc. and then to put posters up around the 'burb. Drop me a line - aaron@350.org and I can always connect you up with anyone else in your hood.
The other thing we're building toward is a stunt down at Parliament, involving dancing human solar-panels. I'm on the look out for help with that one too...
Cheers, and welcome to Wgtn!
Aaron
