Do you remembered we worked together for a few days at BPS several years ago!! And now my flatmate is friends with Ollie who is friends with you?
Small town huh!
Ive seen Story Of Stuff-its great isn't?
It bridges environmental, social justice quite well, and stops just mentioning we need to shift to cyclical flows. Cradle to Cradle design intentions flow on from there.
Currently down in Taupo, for ReGeneration '09- an event bringing together 30 high school leaders with some others our age.
Will be up later next week.
Carl :)
I'm impressed with how proactive you are! Of course you and your friends are more than welcome. Below is an email that I sent out to a bunch of mates. Give me a call whenever 0274896030.
After talking it up to many of you when on the piss, it's time to get stuck in now that spring has landed...
What: group of randoms getting together to do some sunday arvo gardening, drink some beers in the sun and have a potluck dinner afterwards. Of course the benefits of knowledge swapping, upskilling on self sufficiency and strengthening the community are all there too.
Where: the first working bee/dinner is at our house of course haha (65 Dryden St), and then assuming that it goes well, the next one will be at someone elses house and it keeps on moving.
When: Sunday the 16th of November from 3pm.
To do list:
* plant some stuff
* dig out some agapanthus and wild ginger (byo spade if you're into it)
* trim some trees/shrubs
* tame the grass around the edge (any one got a weed whacker?)
* paint mural on our small gate onto the park (volunteer artists required, byo paint)
* destroy rat hill with blunt objects
* sit on the deck and provide commentary
* get a little boozed and talk smack
* eat deluxe home cooked food and be merry (bring a dish potluck styles)
Keen? Tag alongs welcome!
Dion
