Twenty-one reasons women will be better off in a resource based economy

Rather than a conventional blog, my first Intersect effort comes in the form of a list. Typically Intersect blogs are well thought out and overflowing with wit. Profile Information

About Me:
Active member of the Zeitgeist Movement. What do we advocate? A global resource based economy. What's that? And why do we need one? Well, you'll have to watch Zeitgeist Addendum to find that out. Then, you'll have to let the idea germinate. High-tech minimalism with efficient management of the earths resources.
Areas of interest and capabilities:
Areas of Interest - nature, true sustainability, making music, surfing, indigenous cultures, travel, organic food, climbing trees, yoga, permaculture, science, sovereignty, "alternative" education, vipassana meditation.
Areas of Expertise - speaking on the topic of a Resource Based Economy. I'm a generalist and know a little about a lot. I'm not a credentialist, I don't believe in credentialism. Credentials are there to preserve establishments. We are an emergent species and establishments hold us back.

Awesome - thanks for understanding about the videos Michael. All good :)

Thanks also for providing a bit more info on what attracted you to Intersect. You're very, very welcome to be here. Part of what Intersect is here for is to connect people across different communities/sectors, so it's wonderful to see you fostering more of these connections.

All the best from Nick, Megan and the rest of the Crew.

Kia ora Intersect Crew,

Thank you for having me. No problem at all re the moderation. Ten videos was a little excessive (was it really ten? Apologies). Please put it down to enthusiasm and a desire to best enable and elicit understanding.

Regarding the surge in membership from Zeitgeist movement members - I have suggested to our members that they join Intersect. We don't have an established network, rather, like you, we have an emergent and growing network. Our members, like your members, have a deeply shared commitment to sustainability, regeneration and positive change. We are a diverse bunch, and I cannot speak for others who have chosen to join concerning what their intentions are. I can, however, speak for myself. I'm here to meet people from Oooby and figure out what I can do with all my wheatgrass and sprouts. I'm here to meet people from Transition Towns, for I believe that their role is critical to the survival of our communities in potentially strenuous times ahead. I hosted a networking symposium at Wellpark College last year and gave Transition Towns Torbay the floor where they introduced TT to fifty others. I also connected the Wellpark permaculture team with TTT, whom I believe are still working together. I am friends with many of your members (though not yet officially on here).
I, not we (as I said, I cannot speak for any others) am here "to connect - to bring people, groups and ideas together"...."to encourage action through fun and inspiration"..."to develop understanding through curiosity and dialogue", and to grow. I want to teach those who are curious about the Zeitgeist Movement. I want to learn how to make that compost bin that heats water. I want to share my knowledge of permaculture and Geoff Lawton's food forests. I want to swap yoga therapy sessions for veggies/massages/other cool things. I want to find a job that i'm passionate about. That's what's attracting me to Intersect.

Kind regards,
Michael West

Hi Michael. Thanks for joining Intersect. We're just letting you know that we have moderated some of your content. You're welcome to share content on the things that excited you, but we were concerned when you posted 10 videos in a row on the Zeitgeist Movement that it looked like you could be using Intersect to advocate for the Zeitgeist movement. We've got some ground rules that limit any activity that looks like "recruiting". We left a couple of your videos up there - but 10 in a row was swamping the video section. If you have any concerns about this, please let us know.

Also, we've noticed a surge in membership from Zeitgeist members. We're curious about what your intentions are for joining Interesect, especially as we understand that you already have an established social network. Could you please let us know what's attracting you all to Intersect? We'd love to know.

All the best from the Intersect Crew
