Hi Kate,

Thanks for joining up to the local research group. I had a look at your group last ocean charitable trust. The video on your site is beautiful and was enough to capture my interest. I have a bunch of questions for you.

Where are you based?

Do you have any researchers in the trust that do work on penguins and or climate change in the trust?

I was also wondering why the trust is pushing for a marine protected area and not a marine reserve. Is this to allow research to be conducted that may not normally be allowed in a marine reserve?

I have read some research a while back (will have to scratch my brain to remember where) that only marine reserves were effective in restoring marine ecosystems and other less resticted forms of protection were not effective (ie Marine protected areas).

Q) What is your take on this?

Cheers

Nathan
