Profile Information

Date of Birth
August 27, 1978
About Me:
I’m into good conversations, good friends, and good fun.

After growing up in Taranaki I have been hanging out in Wellington for over a decade. These days I love living by the sea in Island Bay cooking up feasts and playing ping pong with my flatmates while my partner is working as a biodiversity ranger on Raoul Island.

I wonder about paradigm shifts and what it takes to make tremendous change from a space of inspiration and co-creation rather than instruction or fear.

I am a senior researcher at New Zealand Council for Educational Research.
Areas of interest and capabilities:
At NZCER I mostly do work that looks at how our formal education system might greet the possibilities and responsibilities of the 21st century. I have contributed to research around education for sustainability, futures thinking, youth development, key competencies, post-school navigations, education for enterprise, and families/communities engagement in schooling. Most recently my imagination has been captured by the potential of the future focussed issues in the New Zealand Curriculum—sustainability, citizenship, globalisation, and enterprise. I have worked on projects for the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Secondary Futures, Ministry of Research Science and Technology, Enviroschools, and many other groups.

Surprise!

You’re invited to our last Face-to-Face event for Wellington Intersect members for 2009. There will be the usual sharing of ideas and inspirations, but this one is a little bit Christmas flavoured and it’s all about Giving.

There will be surprise gifts, crafty activities, ideas for 'sustainable' gifts and conversations about giving. You can get involved in any way that suits you - even if it's just to meet a few more people and enjoy some tasty treats.

...Pssst...pass it on!
Why not surprise someone from the Wellington Intersectors and post this invite on their profile?
