PARK(ing) Space

Collaborate to create urban spaces that make people happy. Temporarily transform metered car parking places into public parks. This was the organising group for NZ's first park(ing) day. Now there's a movement for more...

Imagine taking Park(ing) Day to the next level, by turning the AKL Harbour Bride into a park! Check out: http://pdxbridgefestival.org/archive/brunch/

Definitely keen to be involved in making this happen in Wellington

Worldwide Park(ing) Day is coming up next month - on Friday September 16th (or possibly Saturday the 17th in New Zealand). If anyone wants to get another event kickstarted for this day, now's the time!

An update from Wellington: Sam, Eli and I all reckon that there's just not the energy for organising another event right now - and lots of attention has understandably been on the Christchurch earthquake. Let's see if we're inspired to get something together in Spring. If we want to go with International Park(ing) Day again this year, that's on Friday September 16 - or possibly Saturday September 17 in NZ.

I'd love to be part of a Wellington park-in.

March 16th is Walk2Work Day too

Righto...

Maya - Kelly Roynane is keen for Auckland (and Tania)

Natalie - contact Calum Revfem for all things Tauranga related!

Aimee - I'll be in touch about Wellington. I'm meeting Sam and Eli this week, so if we're all go lets meet and plot over a cuppa.

Also-we can decide dates together. If March 12 doesn't work for people we can try something else...

I just found out I'm in Tauranga that weekend, don't suppose anyone is doing something around there?

OK, so who are the Aucks? I was part of Parking day last year, let's hook up. Can't take the major organizing role but keen to co-organize

Oooh!  I'm keen.  And in Wellington :)

By my reckoning that makes 3 high hands for Wellington and 3 for Auckland. How about the Wellycats talk amongst themselves and the Aucks do the same? If we can muster enough enthusiasm amongst ourselves and our networks we'll get this Park(ing) day moving!

Oh - and if you're wondering who the Queen of Spades is... I am just a figment of the Intersect Trust's imagination. I'm just here to help you express your own majesty.
