Comment by Carl Chenery on July 20, 2012 at 11:01 Christchurch's Ministry of Awesome is running a competition to design a rockin' bike rack, just for Christchurch.
You don't need CAD or professional art skills to enter, either. ("This competition is open to everyone: three-year-olds with crayons, goth teens, yuppies – even lawyers.") They'll convert your vision into CAD and ensure it is technically feasible.

Hey Frockers, put your frock and bike to good democratic use this weekend - come ride with me to remind people to get out and vote. I want to see all our orange frocks out in force!

Comment by Lisa Black on October 10, 2011 at 19:37 With the sunshine warming Wellington, what better day to try to sell my Skeppshult V bike? Hope no-one minds me putting it on here, I thought it might appeal.
Swedish, amazing quality, just about maintenance-free, black sparkle, front and rear racks, extra lockable box, perfect condition (besides a few scuffs on the box and a missing rear wheel lock key), three speed, coaster rear and hub front brakes.
Brilliant to ride around town - 20" wheels make it turn on the spot, three speed, easy brakes and cruisy position let you sit back relax, low frame and double kickstand make it stable to load and mount.
I imported it from Aussie a couple of years ago. It has been ridden a few times, but not nearly as much as it deserves. I have two city bikes, and one needs to go. Living in Karori I am keeping the other because it has 8 gears and is more suited to the 200m vertical climb home from the city!
Hoping for offers around $700, will throw in a black Bell BMX helmet (medium) too. Wellington delivery is easy, but I am willing to consider delivering it to someone further away.

fun times with frockstars at this years Love To Roll valentines day ride.
Cool photos and history of women cycling in the olden times:
"Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world. I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel." -- Susan B. Anthony, 1896
