Hi creative peeps! Great to see this group - so important that we bring creativity to our work for change!

Thought you might be interested in a few projects friends of mine have created in Melbourne activating artists around sustainability/climate change:

Hello creative people!
I loved these posters - using art to convey simple and powerful messages about doing something! And they're beautiful:

I wondered how the artists would feel about disseminating these further - if they would be ok with stencillists (is that a word?) using them etc...

Hey creative peeps

I am a fan of using music and performance poetry to get environmental messages acrosss. I'm looking to get more people involved in bringing poetry back from the motheaten pages of long forgotten books on dusty library shelves, into your local cafes, bars, street corners and living rooms. If you're interested in helping me to create/nuture this energetic slam poetry community, message me!

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, visit here:

Hi everyone, people might be interested in Guy Ryan's event:

The Inspiring Stories Project aims to spark a series of inspirational short film productions throughout New Zealand by connecting up young filmmakers with young people making a difference.

From March to July we're convening a series of two-day intensive workshops in every region of New Zealand. The purpose of which is to empower young Kiwi's with the knowledge and skills to create compelling short films on young people leading change. We're doing this in collaboration with the ReGeneration Aotearoa crew, and we'd love you to get involved!

Check out www.inspiringstories.org.nz for more info.

Hi all, just a quick post to let everyone know about a new freelancing and outsourcing marketplace built especially for New Zealand - HiredGuns -www.hiredguns.co.nz

Hopefully HiredGuns will be a great resource for all members of this group in their hunt to find great projects to work on!

It's completely free to sign up, and you can create a profile showcasing yourself and your skills, link to other online profiles you have, and include video and a portfolio. Using HiredGuns is paid for using credits, and we give you enough to get started when you sign up for your free account.

So check it out now, www.hiredguns.co.nz, and if anyone has any questions, feedback or comments, then I'd love to hear from you - stevef@webindustries.co.nz

Hi All,

Members of this group might be interested in an arts-based event kicking off next weekend in Taranaki called SCANZ 2011: Eco sapiens.

Solar Circuit Aotearoa New Zealand (SCANZ) is New Zealand’s major art, technology, culture and ecology event and involves a symposium, creative residency, and public events and exhibitions.

The 2011 SCANZ hui/symposium features 2 days of discussions between artists and those involved in philosophy, astronomy, evolutionary biology, zoology, food science, physics and education -- followed by a day of creative hands-on workshops.

Hui/Symposium - Jan 14-15
http://www.intercreate.org/hui-symposium/

Open Workshop Day - Jan 16

Come join us! Lots of interesting people coming, but the more the merrier.

All the best,

// Trudy Lane

Hi fellow creatives, by way of introduction, I am Welly-based and a keen amateur photographer especially of nature, patterns & light (samrye.com is my website).

I also work with 350 Aotearoa (www.350.org.nz) and on 10/10/10 we're having a Global Climate Working Bee aimed inspiring the community to unite behind the climate change cause and organise events to raise awareness & cut carbon.

I'd like to invite your creative minds to the party to boost the artistic side of the day of Global action on 10/10/10. It really is up to you how you get involved, but I'd love to hear from you if you could organise an event. Please head to www.350.org.nz for more thoughts and information.

Lets make 10/10/10 biggest day of practical action to cut carbon and raise awareness that the world has ever seen!
