The 2000th member of this community joined yesterday, one Alexandra Bryard, an artist and marketer from Auckland. Welcome Alexandra! Make yourself at home. It's a good place to be.
Since it's celebration day, I wanted to share some good vibes from our recent survey:
What do people like most about Intersect?
It obviously brings some fabulous people together and we always go further together.
Good positive energy and inspiration to change the world! Practical ideas and seeing what others are
doing is great.
The intelligent energy for positive change. Opportunities for advocacy and subtle activism.
Great community of vibrant and clever people.
Hearing what others are doing and getting to have conversation with people I don't know very well in a safe environment.
The feeling of community, connectedness, identity.
Meeting and being supported by inspiring people and learning of all the interesting project that aregoing on around the city.
Seeing ideas emerging and contributions being made by young people and that is HUGELY important.
Serves as a helpful platform to connect with like-minded folks, get info on interesting events and share ideas.
It is a gathering space (online and physically) that was lacking for intentional young people to skillshare, network, grow and inspire one another.
I mostly appreciate being able to find out about events that are happening, as well as just knowingthere are lots of people out there who care about things I care about, and that they're also trying to do something.
The well organised, well run website framework which makes it so easy to find/post info. The fact thatit has built enough of a reputation and large membership to be a go to place for organising events, posting and looking for jobs.
It's a great forum for like-minded people - positive and proactive.
An opportunity to meet with others who care about making a difference
I know that if I wanted to get more involved in a 'purposeful' activity, I could probably find someone at Intersect who could help me out.
The networking opportunities—there are so many people doing fantastic stuff, but often we neverhear about it or get the opportunities to participate, and Intersect helps this to happen.
It takes a light approach to making a difference, drawing together a diverse range of people, and valuing everyone's individual strengths and ideas.
Aw!
All these good things couldn't have come to be without our amazing trustees, past and present. Rebecca, Carl, Eva, Bella, Jen, Joshua, Liv, Mahara, Megan, Nick, Murray, Sarah, and everyone else who has helped: thanks for making this happen.
