Event Description

Join us for an evening of Intersect-ing!

Come along for a social get together and lively discussions on a range of sustainability & social change topics.

Each month we have some good networking time and also one of our members of a guest to lead us in something to help look at something in a new way, and get us mixing.

The First Tuesday for May is a timely and important one for Aucklanders...
and a good time to utilise the wisdom of other members.

Auckland First Tuesday for the Month of May
'Transport Visioning for a Better Life'

Intersect member Jon Slason will lead us in an exercise to explore how to vision a system that works for you, give us a picture of what the real demands and services that our system has to deliver, and then have us explore how to move from today to that vision.

This will be particularly focussed toward thinking about the Auckland Plan (the 30 year plan for Auckland currently under consultation) and based on recent presentations from NZ Transport Agency, Ministry of Transport, and City of Vancouver (as the current Most Livable City in the world).

A conversation we can all contribute to...
Look forward to seeing you there.

In light of the tornado ... is this event still happening? Might not be safe.

** IMPORTANT INFORMATION** NEW VENUE **

Suite is closed for renovation (our oversight)

We are instead meeting at Rakino's Cafe and Bar, 1/35 High St which is 8 mins walk from Suite Bar using this google map.

On foot from Suite: Go up Hobson, turn left into Swanson, cross over Queen St into Shortland St, turn right into High St, and walk up to 35 upstairs.

There will be a sign at Suite Bar saying this.

Apologies for this, we still hope to see you there.

What a fantastic topic! By coincidence I'm in town at the moment from Sydney, and I'm very keen to attend.

I should also share that there's another meeting on a similar topic happening Wednesday: 4pm at the NZTA, the inaugural meeting of The Ridesharing Institute (international)'s NZ-Australia arm (we need to come up with shorter name!) where we'll be debating how to double high occupancy vehicle use within 10 years.

It's a round table discussion and there'll be people in the room from Living Streets, Auckland Airport, Team Traffic, the North Harbour Business Association carpool scheme and others. Anyone with an interest in transportation and/or sustainability is welcome to attend, debate, network and enjoy a drink!
